Godzilla (2014) tells the story of a mysterious incident at the Janjira nuclear power plant in 1999, which resulted in the unfortunate deaths of most of the staff, including Joe Brody’s colleagues and his wife Sandra. Many years later, Joe’s son Ford travels to Japan to help his estranged father. Joe, who has noticed various anomalies and is obsessed with uncovering the truth behind the incident, is determined to explore the forbidden zone. In the process, the father and son discover that the root cause of the catastrophe buried beneath the ruins is a massive cocoon. They witness the awakening of the male MUTO and, even worse, a second secret resurgence occurring elsewhere.
